How Radcoflex consolidated its business systems with SAP Business One
In the manufacturing sector, having a single, consolidated view of your business is vital. If you are operating with disparate systems – or worse, using manual and ad-hoc processes – you could be missing a whole raft of opportunities.
It’s why, when Radcoflex wanted a way to streamline their finance, inventory, sales, purchasing and manufacturing, they approached Leverage Technologies to find a solution. After performing an in-depth analysis of Radcoflex’s requirements, we helped them implement a new, robust solution focused around SQL Server and SAP Business One.
The challenge for Radcoflex
Radcoflex is an Australian-owned and internationally recognised manufacturer and distributor of flexible hoses, expansion joints and tubular products. Radcoflex manufactures made-to-order items as well as variations from standard items for a wide range of industries from auto to petrochemical. They handle both one-off and large-scale orders with custom-built expansion joints and composite and braided flexible hoses.
Until recently, however, Radcoflex was operating with dated, silo-based technology that was making it hard to gain overarching insight into the productivity and efficiency of the business. As Radcoflex has so many diverse products and clients, located all over the world, and so much variation in the scope and nature of their orders, they needed a very robust and reliable solution that could accurately consolidate and improve their operations.
Partnering to find a solution
Leverage Technologies performed an in-depth analysis of Radcoflex’s needs and product offering and then recommended deploying an SAP Business One solution, coupled with SQL Server.
The new solution helps them tie together their financial management, inventory controls, sales systems, as well as purchasing and manufacturing processes.
Radcoflex were interested in SAP Business One from the start, due to its ease of use, relevance to their manufacturing sector, and provision of outstanding local support. They also found that the overall cost of ownership of the SAP Business One solution was low when compared with other solutions available for small-to-medium manufacturing businesses.
The longevity of the product – and the fact it includes ongoing access to upgrades and new versions – was another advantage for Radcoflex, which wanted to minimise the burden on its internal IT staff long-term.
The new solution was deployed efficiently and easily, thanks largely to SAP’s strong implementation methodology. SAP also offered online training, which helped ensure a high degree of uptake amongst staff. And the SAP Data Transfer Workbench was also utilised for managing data uploads, which saved Radcoflex considerable amounts of time and money.
Outstanding results
With a single, streamlined view of their manufacturing and supply operation, Radcoflex now has the data it needs to make faster, more accurate decisions. The solution is flexible, powerful and automates many tasks that were previously completed manually – saving on paperwork and administrative hassle.
It has also considerably reduced the business’ reliance upon third-party and external systems.
“We wouldn’t recommend any other SAP Business One partner. Leverage’s capabilities, their commitment and their honesty to service delivery make them a cut above the rest,” says Carl Roberts, General Manager of Radcoflex.
